The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced its final 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in the USA and the Caribbean next month. Captain Babar Azam will lead the Men in Green, with three players named as reserves.
A notable inclusion in the squad is Abbas Afridi, who is making his debut in a World Cup squad. The young fast bowler has caught the selectors’ attention with his impressive performances in the PSL and recent international matches. He joins a strong pace attack that includes Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.
Babar Azam, recognized globally as one of the premier batters, will anchor the batting lineup. The squad also features powerful hitters and versatile all-rounders like Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Azam Khan, ensuring a well-rounded team.
Additionally, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are expected to provide explosive starts, while players such as Mohammad Rizwan will play crucial roles in anchoring the innings through the death overs.
The Pakistani team is currently in England to play four T20Is from May 22 to 30, serving as their final preparation before the T20 World Cup in June. The ICC has set May 25 as the deadline for all teams to announce their squads for the tournament.
