South Africa’s middle-order batsman, David Miller, has refuted speculations about retiring from T20 Internationals following the team’s loss to India in the World Cup final held in Barbados.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Miller affirmed his commitment to continuing to play T20 cricket for the Proteas. He clarified, “Contrary to reports, I have not retired from T20 international cricket. I remain fully dedicated to representing South Africa. The best is yet to come.”
Reflecting on the final, Miller expressed deep disappointment, saying, “I am devastated!! It’s incredibly tough to accept after what happened just two days ago. Words cannot describe my emotions right now. One thing I do know is how proud I am of this team. This journey has been remarkable, with highs and lows throughout the entire month. We have faced hardships, but I believe this team has the strength and determination to continue setting new benchmarks.”

South Africa experienced a heart-wrenching defeat against India in the T20 World Cup 2024 final by seven runs on June 29.
Miller was dismissed on the first ball of the final over when his team needed 16 runs from six deliveries.
