Pakistan to Launch Another Satellite into Space After Licube’s Success

With the great success of ICube-Qamar, Pakistan is preparing for its next satellite launch on May 30. SUPARCO and the National Space Agency are working together on the forthcoming satellite, PakSat-MM1. Its primary objective is to revolutionize 5G internet services in the nation by offering dependable and quicker connectivity. The newest communication technology is installed on the five-ton satellite. According to Suparco, “the satellite is expected to help meet the growing demands of the telecom sector and contribute to the establishment of a sophisticated communication network.”
According to a Suparco official, it will take the satellite three to four days to stabilize in its assigned orbit above the planet.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s first lunar satellite ICube-Qamar has successfully completed its lunar orbit.ICUBE reached lunar orbit on May 9 at 1:14 p.m. Pakistan time. After the satellite was placed on the moon, it functioned within the planned parameters.

On June 4, the Chang’e 6 mission is slated to begin its return voyage to Earth, with an anticipated arrival date of June 25.

The Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) and the China National Space Agency (CNSA) presented member states with the chance to send a student-built payload to Earth’s nearest celestial neighbor onboard the Chang’e 6 mission in 2022, sparking the beginning of the hunt to deploy a lunar orbiter.

Even in these harsh weather conditions and high temperatures, ICUBE continues to operate and collect vital data. Among its missions are studying the Moon’s craters and searching for traces of ice and water on the Moon’s surface. In addition, ICUBE is transmitting high-resolution photos to Earth at a speed of 1 kbps, significantly improving our understanding of the composition and topography of the Moon.

The effective implementation of ICUBE demonstrates Pakistan’s growing prowess in satellite technology and space exploration. Pakistan is poised to advance its space program and utilize satellite technology for the benefit of its people and the international community with the upcoming launch of MM1.

High-power multi-mission satellite PakSat-MM1 will provide communication services in the C, Ku, and Ka Bands as well as SBAS services in the L Band. PakSat-MM1, which makes use of cutting-edge communication technology, is anticipated to have a major impact on the socioeconomic development of the nation and the establishment of a Digital Pakistan. It will provide different communication services, including broadband internet, TV broadcasting, mobile back-hauling, and VSAT connectivity.

Coverage Maps:

Coverage in the C-band:

Supports HDTV and TV broadcasts, offering wide area coverage.

Direct access to high-end cable and DTH systems in the UK and mainland Europe.

Fiber connectivity offers reasonably priced access to DTH head ends and US and Canadian cable systems.

strong cellular backhaul coverage throughout Central Asia, sections of Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.

Perfect for IP trunking into South Asia, the Middle East, and some regions of Africa and Central Asia from the UK and Europe.

Ku-band Transmission:

VSAT applications are supported by high-power coverage throughout Pakistan and the surrounding areas.
Data throughputs and higher-order modulation methods for economical and effective performance.
ideal for data networks, DSNG, and cellular backhaul, offering dependable connections even during inclement weather.
Ka-band Transmission:

Broadband services and high-speed access will be offered throughout the nation via the Ka-Band HTS payload.

Development/ Follow-Up

The launch of the nation’s multi-mission communication satellite from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center was announced by SUPARCO last week. As part of China’s Chang’e-6 lunar expedition, Pakistan also launched its first satellite earlier this month from Hainan.

With operations starting in August, Pakistan Television claims that the new satellite will boost TV broadcasts, cellular phones, and broadband services in addition to improving internet services throughout Pakistan.

Attending the launch, Pakistan’s Space Launch Centre’s Minister of Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, expressed hope for the next satellite launches. Along with congratulating the country, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed enthusiasm about PakSat-MM1’s possible influence on internet connectivity. He emphasized the satellite’s cutting-edge communication capabilities and how they have changed the digital landscape of the nation.

The launch of the satellite from Xichang was hailed by the prime minister as proof of solid bilateral cooperation and a breakthrough in using technology for the advancement of the country. Regarding the launch as evidence of Pakistan’s potential and promising future in space and communication technologies, he praised SUPARCO and the entire team participating.

Pakistan is one of the youngest and most populous countries in the world, with a population of 240 million and an average age of 23. This group is driving a growing need for digital communications infrastructure and advanced communications technologies.A key step in this effort is the launch of PAKSAT-MM1, which aims to improve internet connectivity across Pakistan, where access remains a major issue in almost half of the country.

Improved internet connectivity will significantly improve the employment prospects of a relatively tech-savvy youth, allowing them to serve potential employers across the globe, regardless of geographical constraints. This is an affordable way to resolve small currency preparation for countries that are as stressful as Pakistan and the establishment of Internet workers.
