More than 30 universities from Pakistan have been included in the Young University Rankings 2024 by Times Higher Education, though none made it into the top 100. The National University of Sciences and Technology achieved the highest rank among Pakistani institutions at 142nd, while COMSATS University Islamabad secured the 154th spot.
The Young University Rankings by Times Higher Education assess the top universities globally that are 50 years old or younger. These rankings consider factors such as teaching quality, research output, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, but place less emphasis on the university’s reputation.
In the 2024 rankings, 673 universities were featured, up from 605 the previous year. Additionally, 499 institutions were labeled as “reporter,” meaning they submitted data but did not qualify for ranking.
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore held the top spot for the second year in a row. Hong Kong continued to have a strong representation in the top 10, despite variations in individual university performances. Turkey had the most ranked institutions, followed by India and Iran.
