Islamabad driving licence fee increased massively; check the new fee structure

ISLAMABAD – The administration in the federal capital has announced a significant increase in fees for learner permits, driving licenses of various categories, and license renewals.

This development follows the Punjab government’s recent revision of the driving license fee structure.

According to a notification from the chief commissioner’s office, the new driving license fees are effective immediately.

Revised Fee Structure for New Driving Licenses in Islamabad as of May 2024
The Islamabad administration has raised the fee for a learner driving permit with six months validity to Rs1,000, up from Rs349.

The fee for a motorcycle and motor car driving license (non-professional) has increased from Rs1,800 to Rs3,000.

The fees for professional licenses (LTV and HTV) have surged from Rs2,100 to Rs10,000.

The fee for a digital driving license card is now Rs 2,000. Below is the complete fee structure for new driving licenses in Islamabad:

Learner Permit Valid for six months: Rs1,000
New Motorcycle + Car Driving License: Rs3,000
LTV, HTV, and other Professional Licenses: Rs10,000
Motorcycle + Professional License: Rs10,000
Digital Driving License Card Fee: Rs2,000
Fee for Renewal of Driving License from May 2024
The renewal fee for a driving license within 30 days of expiry is Rs 2,000. If renewed after thirty days but within one year of the expiry date, the fee is Rs 3,500.

The renewal fee within three years of expiry is Rs 3,000.

The fee for renewing a learner permit has been increased to 500, while the cost for a duplicate license is Rs 3,000.

The restoration fee for a suspended license has been raised to a staggering Rs20,000 in Islamabad.
